We have far more girls wanting to join Girlguiding in Wimbledon than we have volunteers available. If you would like to help, we have these roles in demand:
Leaders in Training
Our Leaders in Training are women aged 18+ who help run Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units with a view to becoming Unit Leaders or Assistant Leaders. You will be supported by a Mentor while working towards your Adult Leadership Qualification (ALQ) and will take part in learning and development opportunities both ‘on-the-job’ and through formal and informal training sessions. Once qualified you will be able to do further qualifications, such as the Going Away With Scheme.
Responsibilities

Run or help run unit meetings with a balanced and varied programme of activities
-
Provide a safe environment for the girls and others working with the unit
-
Keep or help to keep financial records for the unit
-
Keep in regular contact with the girls' parents regarding the unit's activities.

Leaders agree to abide by Girlguiding's policies and rules.

Social media skills desirable
A DBS recruitment check will be completed on your behalf
Unit Helpers
Our Unit Helpers are both women and men aged over 18 who give their time and skills to support a unit, but do not undertake the Adult Leadership Qualification.
Support may involve:

Working with small groups of young people
-
Helping in the preparation of unit records
-
Helping in the preparation of financial records for the unit

Helping to provide a safe environment for the girls and others working with the unit.

Unit Helpers agree to abide by Girlguiding's policies and rules.

Social media skills desirable
A DBS recruitment check will be completed on your behalf
Young Leaders
Young Leaders are women aged 14-18 who assist Leaders in running a unit.
Being a Young Leader provides valuable experience in leadership and responsibility and looks great on university or college applications or in CVs.
A Young Leader aged 14-18 can work towards the Young Leader Qualification, and from 16 can start working towards the Leadership Qualification.
As part of the unit's leadership team a Young Leader is expected to:

Attend regular unit meetings

May get the opportunity to plan and run activites for the unit

Work with small groups of young people

Help to provide a safe environment for the girls and others working with the unit

Possibily attend District/Division meetings

Make or renew the Promise.
Duke of Edinburgh Volunteers
If you are not a member of Girlguiding but would like to complete the 'volunteering' section of your DofE with Girlguiding then you are most welcome to join us.
Responsibilities will be similar to those of the Young Leader or Unit Helper in that you will be expected to:

help to provide a safe environment for the girls and others working with the unit

agree to abide by Girlguiding's policies and rules.
Participants must be aged 14+, and those over the age of 18 will have recruitment checks completed on their behalf.
