Our charity work

Our units actively support a number of charities. Recent fundraising includes:

Our activity has included:

  • St Raphael's Hospice: Brownies, guides and leaders raised almost £600 for St Raphael’s Hospice singing Christmas carols at Raynes Park station during the commuter home-time rush hour. This brings the total raised for St Raphael’s over the years we have been supporting them to just under £8,500.

  • Heyswood Girlguiding Camp: 12th Brownies organised a morning of Easter activities, raising £235 for the refurbishment fund of the Heyswood Girlguiding Camp.

  • ClearVision: 25th Brownies raised over £300 by having cake sales throughout the year, and raffling Christmas hampers which the girls put together and decorated. ClearVision is a charity based at Linden Lodge school in Southfields and operates a UK postal lending library of mainstream children's books with added braille.

  • St John's Church: 8th Wimbledon Guides raised £350 holding an evening fund raiser and selling items the girls had made (candles, cards etc), offering a raffles and different games/competitions, as well as a cake and tea sale. The proceeds have gone to St John’s church which was seeking to raise funds to replace the church hall where the unit meets.

  • Sports Relief: 28th Wimbledon Brownies raised £55 for Sports Relief.
